I apologize for the picture overload on this post haha!
We took a trip to Disney in August 2012. We went the very last week right before the kids would start school. Can I just say BEST TIME EVER to go in my opinion. Sure it was hot, but not unbearable. The lines? Nope! We practically walked on to everything! The longest line we waited in was maybe 30 min. Most everything we seriously just walked on!
I got all the kids outfit together before hand. I ordered some screen prints to iron on off Etsy. I got my girls tutus from haloheaven.com and I found their Minnie Mouse Pettirompers from Ebay. I don't sew so this is as good as it gets! We had just enough time to rush down for a 2 day trip before school. We drove from Idaho. We have family in St. George though so we could stop halfway for a break! We had lots of snacks and a portable DVD player!
Our kids were 7, 5, and 2 1/2. Perfect ages! E and H still had to sit off some rides but B could ride everything. Which was ok because while one of us took B on something the other would take E and H on something close by and everyone was happy. We still mostly rode things we could all ride though.
We stayed at a Super 8 Motel on Katella that is within walking distance to the park. Nice hotel, pool, hot tub, continental breakfast, free parking and cheap rates!
The kids had NO IDEA where we were going. Even dressed in their outfits we walked to the park and they still didn't know we had to tell them! They were SO EXCITED!
We did Princess Character dining at Ariels Grotto. I talked about it here. The girls got to see all their Princesses. The first day we spent the whole day in Disneyland. Kids had a blast. The second day we ventured over to California Adventure. Now this is the time I decided I LOVED California Adventure as much as Disneyland. There were some new rides and rides we had never been on that are some of my new favorites!! With kids you MUST ride Monsters Inc., Little Mermaid, and Mators Junkyard Jamboree!! Of course we did Disney Junior Live on Stage which I also talked about in my last post about our Disney Vacation. Cars Land was new and amazing and we didn't get to experience everything over there because our little H ended up having a seizure which cut our park day short. Long story short, H suffers from febrile seizures. They are harmless but since she fell and hit her head and this was the first time Daddy had ever actually seen her have one the medics were called and by the time I showed up I was escorted out of the park on a stretcher with her and taken to Orange County Hospital. She was fine! When we got checked out we headed back to the park and let her sleep it off in the stroller so the other two could enjoy the rest of the day because this was out last day!
We were able to Meet Merida which was neat because Brave had just been out recently!
Redd Rocketts Pizza Port in Tommorow land inside the Disneyland Park has become a favorite of ours to eat at. We call it Pizza Planet for my Toy Story obsessed son. They have decent prices and you get quite a bit of food. Plus what kid won't eat Pizza?!
If you notice in some of these pictures we have autograph books. Well about that. . . lol So I wanted to make my kids their own photo album/autograph books and ended up just buying 3 books with blank 3x5 paper and every character had to sign 3 times!! What was I thinking?! It took more of their time and they didn't get to play or interact with the character as much because we were in a line and you can't hold up the line for others! I should have taken one book, let them sign once and then make copies!! The next year when we went we didn't even do autograph books ;) The books I made though turned out cute and they are always busting them out to look over them!
Taking turns with different kids on rides they are big enough to ride!
The Little Mermaid ride! So neat!! Nice for cooling off!!
Ariels Grotto.
E is SO into Toy Story! I loved that Woody made such a big deal to him about matching! I mean he totally played it off so cute with him it just made his day!!
This ride is the ride we waited the longest to ride! Worth it though!
alls well that end well right?!
